Spring is here and life is good in Texas.  Spring is the time of year that we get back outside and start enjoying our yards, our pools, and time around our BBQ pits with friends and neighbors.  It’s also a reminder that summer is right around the corner and that we will need the comforting shade of our trees.

Check Your Trees

That being said, spring is a great time to check your trees to see what limbs have died, which limbs have grown over your pool or garden (preventing the much needed sun) or those that are too low for you to comfortably mow under.  While your kids have the biggest growth spurt in summer, your trees have their biggest growth spurt in Spring and they slow down going into fall and winter.  Spring is also a good time to check the canopies of your trees to see if there is any dangerous deadwood up there just waiting to fall on something or someone below.

Trees That May Not Have Survived The Freeze

With the Snowpocalypse of  2021, you may be waiting to see if your trees will be coming back. Now is a good time to call the Good Guys to see if your trees may be coming back or if they need to be treated. So, if you have a limb or limbs in your way now, they will only get worse as time goes on.  No need to fight with a nuisance branch or branches all season when you can get them taken care of early in the season. Spring is also a great time to fertilize but that’s a story for another day.  Keep growing Austin!
